A Note from Tea Eason
The impetus for creating LadyBugs Forever came after a dinner party I attended with a group of my female friends. Conversation turned to high school, to our high school selves and our high school dreams, and it didn't take long for us to realize that none of us had actually followed our dreams. Take a poll of your friends, and ask them what they wanted to do with their lives when they were in high school, and if they have achieved their career goals or are still working toward them today. Think back to yourself, when you were in high school. Are you living your dreams? What would you tell the younger you now, or a young lady you know, about following her dreams? I know you. You would do more than just encourage her, you would never let her lose sight of those dreams. You would make sure she had the resources available to her to fulfill those dreams.
When I was growing up, I was always told what to do and how to be; I never felt like I was finding my own way. I grew up in a small suburb in the Los Angeles area and I was 6’0’ tall before I started high school. My family was one of a handful of minorities there at that time. I was immediately shoved into sports; I was prodded and judged for not acting more like an adult, simply because I was tall and articulate. I remember slouching to be shorter and acting differently to appease those around me. I remember wanting to be everyone but me. I remember thinking I wasn’t “good enough.” I never learned much about myself and it showed later in my early adult life. LadyBugs Forever will change this for girls. We will change the world for girls. And you can help us do it.
Join us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and visit our fundraising page here.
Over the next few months we will be initiating fundraising campaigns to help support our First Chapter of LadyBugs and to start what we hope will be a worldwide network of chapters. Help us spread the word by sharing our content with your family, friends and followers.
Many thanks and much LadyBug love,
